If you wear good fitting bras, you should not be able to feel that you are wearing one at all.
If the band at the back of the bra rides up, then the band of the bra is too loose, so you need to adjust the band size.
If the underwire is on your breast tissue, your bra cup is too small.
If the bra straps dig in, your bra is too big around the body. This causes you to pull the straps up too tight for support.
If your breasts are falling out of the bottom of the underwire, the band of your bra is too big and the cup is too small.
If your breasts overspill out of your bra, you need to increase your cup size until you have a smoother silhouette, under clothes.
The first measurement is the Band Size, or the chest measurement under the breasts. This is the Number Size of the Bra: 32, 34, 36...
The second Measurement is the Cup Size. This is determined by the actual breast measurement: A, B, C...
Always have someone else measure you. It is never accurate to do it yourself.
If you want to measure over your own bra or your clothes be sure to wear a thin t-shirt.
Wear a bra without padding to be accurately measured.
Allow the salesperson to show you and let you try different styles and makes of bras. Every style has a unique feel and fit and can "shape" your breasts differently.

Professor Kefah Mokbel, a consultant breast surgeon at St. Georges and The Princess Grace Hospital in London, has said "In one study we found 100 percent were wearing the wrong bra. They tend to underestimate the back size and overestimate the cup. This leads to discomfort in the breast, neck and shoulders. These symptoms are interpreted as physical symptoms which indicate the need for breast reduction. I strongly believe that setting up a proper bra-fitting service would reduce the symptoms these women suffer and reduce the number of women who are referred requesting breast reduction."
